Zopo Speed 7 Unboxing, Quick Review, Camera, Features Overview

Physical Overview
Zopo Speed 7 body has matte finish plastic on the rear cover, which gently curves vertically towards top and bottom edges. The chrome finish strip on the sides is again plastic and not metal, but this shouldn’t play against Speed 7, at least not in this price range. The plastic back cover has a textured design and is removable. A chrome ring is also present all around the marginally bulging camera sensor to prevent scratches in day to day use. our hands on unit had a plastic scratch guard pre-installed, which implies Zopo isn’t using a scratch resistant coating on the touch glass. We weren’t blown away with the display quality, however it isn’t a shoddy display either. Viewing angles, colors and brightness are good if not great.
User Interface
Zopo Speed 7 includes one of those rare few Chinese ROMs which come with an App drawer. The interface is close to stock Lollipop. The settings menu and other native apps make a show of material design. The UI isn’t very heavy and thus didn’t account for any UI lag. Some features which Zopo advertised include double tap to wake and lock screen gestures. The UI seemed pretty stable in our initial time with the device, but we will reserve our verdict till we have spent more time with the device.
Camera Overview
Speed 7 lists 13.2MP rear camera with wide aperture 5p lens, which sounds great on paper, but in practice the camera performance was a bit underwhelming. The camera failed to focus accurately and swiftly, and was also tormented by shutter lag. The image quality felt average at best. We managed to click some great selfies from the front camera, but didn’t get to test it extensively.

Conclusion
Compared to the adjacent rivals, Zopo gets several things right with Speed 7, but there is nothing that particularly stands out and give it that much needed extra edge. Having said that, It is still too soon to judge it merits or elaborate its flaws. We will wait till we extensively test it in our full review and check how big a difference 3GB RAM makes to the user experience.
