Camera and Internal Storage

The primary camera is 8 MP unit and judging by the Megapixel count, it won’t be a deal breaker in this price range. The Auto focus camera employs BSI senor and LED flash for low light photography and can record 1080p full HD videos at 30fps. A front 2 MP camera is also present for selfies. The imaging hardware remains similar to Xolo Q2000. Internal storage is 8 GB and can be further expanded to 64 GB using MicroSD card support. Most manufacturers are still stuck with trite 4 GB storage model and Xolo deserves some accolades for improving this aspect.

Processor and Battery

The SoC used is Broadcom BCM23550 quad core chipset clocked at 1.2 GHz and aided by Videocore GPU. The same chipset was also present on phones like Xolo Q1000 Opus and Xolo Q600s and the benchmark scores place it below its MediaTek counterpart MT6582. Combined with 1 GB RAM, it should suffice for moderate usage. Battery capacity is 2500 mAh, which sounds ok considering the large display size. Xolo has not yet provided with the backup stats for this one but you can expect 1 day backup with low to moderate usage.

Display and Other Features

The 5.5 inch display has one forth as many pixels if you compare it with Xolo Q2000. The resolution is qHD 960 x 540 pixels which amounts to 200 pixels per inches. The reduction in pixel density will be noticeable. The highlight of this phablet is that it runs on latest Android 4.4 KitKat operating system. The dual SIM phablet also supports OTG Connectivity, GLONASS , AGPS and other set of standard Connectivity features.

Comparison

This phone will compete against large display phablets like Spice Stellar Mi-600, Karbonn Titanium S9 Lite and Lava Iris 550Q. The phone will also compete against upcoming Xiaomi Redmi Note which is expected to launch in India next month in the same price range.
