The new Xiaomi Redmi Y2 comes with almost similar design and camera specifications as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro which was released back in February at a slightly higher price point. The smartphone is running the MIUI 9.5 which is based on the Android 8.0 Oreo OS. The Xiaomi Redmi Y2 comes is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, all eight cores are running at a clock speed of 2.0 GHz. The processor is then coupled with 3GB/ 4GB RAM and 32GB/ 64GB Storage which is expandable via dedicated micro SD card slot. The Redmi Y2 also runs on the MIUI 9.5 which is based on the Android 8.1 Oreo and both the smartphones are eligible for the MIUI 10 update.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro comes with a 4000 mAh battery which supports Quick Charge 2.0 fast charging while the Redmi Y2 comes with 3080 mAh battery which does not support any kind of fast charging tech. One more difference in both the smartphones is that Redmi note 5 Pro comes with Bluetooth 5 while the Redmi Y2 comes with Bluetooth 4.2. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro is a straight winner here because it got a better display, better hardware and more RAM in comparison to the Redmi Y2. Some features like Bluetooth 5 and Quick Charge 2.0 is missing in Redmi Y2. Even if Redmi Y2 didn’t compete well with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, it offers band for your bucks.
