Earlier, Xiaomi India had announced the launch event on Redmi India twitter handle. Now, the same post with the hashtag #GiveMe5 and a video has been posted on Flipkart which hints that the device launching on Feb 14 is the Redmi Note 5. It will be the successor to the Redmi Note 4 that was a top-selling smartphone in India last year. The Flipkart teaser shows the Note 5 will be offering more than Redmi Note 4.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Specifications
Coming to the expected specifications, as reported earlier the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is expected to come with a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The phone is expected to be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 or Snapdragon 636 processor. Memory wise, we could see up to 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.
Other specifications of the Redmi Note 5 are a single 16MP primary camera, 5MP front camera, and a 4,100mAh battery. Dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Infrared and other connectivity options are expected to remain the same as before. It is expected to run on Android 7.1.2 Nougat with MIUI 9 on top. Additionally, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 has also been leaked in a recent concept video and renders which show the dual rear camera setup along with 18:9 display. This suggests that Xiaomi could launch two variants of the phone in India just like the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus in China. So, another variant of the Redmi Note 5 might feature a dual camera at the back.
