The Xiaomi Mi4 is the latest flagship phone from Xiaomi which comes with 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 801 chipset, 5 inch Full HD display. The chipset is backed by 3 GB RAM, Adreno 320 GPU and comes in 16 GB and 64 GB internal storage variants. However, Xiaomi will not launch 64 GB variant in India as confirmed by Hugo Bara in comments to user queries. Indian Mi4 will support FDD LTE and India won’t be getting 3G only variant. Other features include 3080 mAh battery, Metallic body, MIUI 6 based on Android 4.4 KitKat.  The Xiaomi Mi4 is expected to be priced around 20K in India which will be a great price for this device. Hugo Barra also addressed several other key issues for Indian market most pressing of which is stock limitations of Mi3, which also threatens company’s reputation. The situation has arises as Xiaomi couldn’t estimate the demand in India. The company judged the demand by likes on its Facebook page and the number was only 10k 1 week before the launch. In Barra’s own words “So our manufacturing forecast for India was wrong and we underestimated it. But you have to understand that when we set our manufacturing schedule we have to decide which countries are going to get these products. So we have to decide months in advance, because the packaging is different, software is different; labels are different, government requirements etc. We can’t just pick up units from China and allocate them to India. We made an underestimation in terms of the manufacturing forecasts and we have to deal with that.” He also mentioned that Xiaomi Mi3 accessories will arrive in couple of weeks and their next phone, Xiaomi Redmi 1S will also arrive within next 2 to 3 weeks with its accessories. Xiaomi assures that it will be better prepared to handle Xiaomi Redmi 1S demands.
