Xiaomi’s Mi series next generation bezel-less display phone will feature the same design as its previous model. Interestingly, the concept video of its design has also been teased by its designer. Coming back to the screenshot that is reportedly from the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, it was shared by a user on Chinese website Weibo. It shows the lock screen with an outline of a head, asking the user to look at the phone to unlock it. The poster mentioned that the Mi Mix 2 will come with 3D facial recognition. The iPhone 8 is also expected to launch with this feature, so it’s interesting to see that Xiaomi is already trying to implement it.
Mi Mix 2 is the successor of last year’s Xiaomi Mi Mix that was the three-sided bezel-less smartphone with the all-ceramic body. The phone was designed by a France-based designer, Philippe Starck. Xiaomi has again collaborated with the Starck to design the Mi Mix 2. Today, Philippe Starck has posted a concept video of the upcoming Mi Mix 2 on his Facebook page. The video shows the three-sided bezel-less display and the bottom bezel is now very thin when compared to its predecessor. https://www.facebook.com/StarckOfficial/videos/1905016559763231/ From the video, we can see, the Mi Mix 2 looks really good in terms of design with the curved edges and rounded corners. The bottom bezel holds the selfie camera and the USB Type-C port along with speaker grill also sit on the bottom edge. While the video is captioned as a conceptual design, the Mi Mix 2 is expected to come out with the same design. Earlier the phone was spotted on Geekbench listing last month. It revealed most of the specs of the phone. The smartphone scored 1929 points in single-core test and 6431 points in the multi-core test.
