With the rollout of Android 8.0 Oreo, users of the Xiaomi Mi A1 took to the forum to complain about various bugs and crashes. This led to the company initially suspending the update, and now releasing the update along with the latest security patch.

For the uninitiated, the Xiaomi Mi A1 is an Android One smartphone from the company. The device has now received the latest Android 8.0 Oreo update along with the January security patch. The January patch is about 89MB in size and should install quickly without any data loss. With this update, the device has also got the Fingerprint Swipe Gesture that allows you to access notifications by scrolling on the fingerprint sensor. Talking about specifications, the Xiaomi Mi A1 comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS-LCD display. In terms of cameras, the phone is sporting Dual 12MP sensors at the back. Along with this the device also packs a 5MP front-facing camera. In terms of hardware, the Xiaomi Mi A1 is backed by a Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor, coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. You get 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. There is also expandable storage up to 128GB via microSD card. You get the device running Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box, with Android 8.0 Oreo now rolling out. With this update, you’re getting the latest version of Android along with the latest January 2018 security patch from Google.
