Manu Kumar Jain, the company’s Global VP, and MD, Xiaomi India announced this on his twitter account. He also tweeted that Xiaomi phones are the top three best-selling smartphones in India, as per Counterpoint a technology industry research, analysis and consulting firm. Counterpoint data says that Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, Redmi 4 and Redmi 4A are the three best-selling smartphones in India. According to latest Counterpoint data, Xiaomi has posted more than 250% YoY (year over year) growth in Q3 2017 as compared to the same quarter (Q3 2016) last year. “@XiaomiIndia continues to be the fastest growing smartphone brand in India, growing at more than 250% YoY!,” writes Manu.

It also shows Xiaomi’s sales grew by a whopping 290% in Q3 2017 while Samsung’s growth raised only by 30%. Globally, Xiaomi has shipped more than 70 Million units until the October of this year. The company has surpassed its target set for the year. According to another firm IDC, Xiaomi stands at the fifth spot in the global smartphone rankings for Q3 2017. The company has sold 27.6 million units in the third quarter of 2016 which is up by 102.6% from the same quarter of 2016. Coming to the India, it seems like India is becoming the most prominent market for Xiaomi after its homeland. If we recall, the company had sold more than 1 million devices during last month’s Diwali sales. Moreover, its recently launched selfie-centric Redmi Y1 devices were also sold like a hot cake when they were up for flash sale for the first time on November 08. The company announced that it had sold more than 1.5 lakh units of the Xiaomi Redmi Y1 and Redmi Y1 Lite within three minutes of the Flash sale.
