Vivo had launched the V7+ back in September, and now V7 comes as a toned-down version of that. Vivo V7 has a slightly smaller display, a slightly smaller battery, and less internal storage. Moreover, unlike V7+, V7 doesn’t have Gorilla Glass protection for the display. Apart from above-mentioned features, both the devices are identical in terms of features and specifications. These devices attract selfie lovers and since the company has introduced this lighter version, it may attract some users because of its reduced price. Here we will do a comparison between the two phones from Vivo and find out which one offers more value for your money.

Vivo V7 Vs Vivo V7+ Specifications

Design and Display

Vivo has already been following the trend of the bezel-less display with V7+, and now V7 also features the same 18:9 ratio display. The Vivo V7 features the same design as V7+ and only has a smaller display. V7 sports a 5.7-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio and thus having minimum bezels. It has the screen resolution of 1,440 x 720 pixels. On the other hand, Vivo V7+ features a bigger 5.99-inch HD+ display with 18:9 Aspect Ratio and a resolution of 1,440 x 720 pixels. However, the V7+ display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 4. Now, if we talk about design and display comparison, both the phones offer a similar experience. With similar 18:9 HD+ displays, they both sport the same panel. Design wise also they both feature unibody plastic design. However, with a slightly bigger display with Gorilla Glass protection, Vivo V7+ is the winner here.

Hardware and Storage

Both the Vivo V7 and V7+ are powered by the same octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor with an Adreno 506 GPU. They both also pack 4GB RAM. However, storage wise V7 offers 32GB of storage and the V7+ has 64GB internal storage. Both the devices also sport a dedicated microSD card slot for expandable storage up to 256GB. Despite coming with similar hardware and RAM, Vivo V7+ here again takes the lead between both the phones because of more internal storage.

Camera

Vivo has always been known for its selfie centric phones and this V7, V7+ are not exceptions. So, let’s talk about the selfie camera first. A 24MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and soft LED flash is given for selfies in V7 and V7+.

If we talk about the rear camera, they both sport a similar 16MP camera with f/2.0 aperture. Other features include LED flash and PDAF.

Coming to the comparison, as for the cameras, they both have the similar camera setup. So, these cannot be compared and both capture some good pictures.

Software and Performance

The Vivo V7 and V7+ both run Android Nougat 7.1 with Funtouch OS 3.2 on top which is Vivo’s optimized skins. Both the phones come with many new features of the Funtouch including an eye-protection mode, a drop-down search toggle, tapping on fingerprint sensor takes a Selfie etc. Both the phones run smoothly with such features. So, as we can see both of them run similar OS, they cannot be compared. Because of similar UI and hardware, there are not any differences in phones’ performances.

Battery and Connectivity

Vivo hasn’t made a big difference in terms of the battery as well. The V7 has a 3,000mAh battery that should offer a day of use. While the V7+ packs a 3,225mAh battery. So, by seeing the display size, the battery capacity of both the devices seem justified. If we talk about connectivity, they both offer same options such as 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, micro USB 2.0 and FM Radio. They both sport a fingerprint scanner on the back.

Price

Now comes the pricing, which may be decisive for so many of users. The V7 starts at Rs. 18,990 in India. While the V7+ price in India goes up to Rs. 21,990. Although V7 wins the price war by a slight margin, it’s noticeable that Vivo V7+ has some extra features and is priced higher because of those.

Conclusion

Ever since we have seen Vivo’s phones we have noticed their selfie camera love and these two phones are also selfie-centric devices with almost similar features. The only differences between both the phones are V7 has a slightly smaller display without Gorilla Glass and less internal storage. So, if you don’t care much about the slightly smaller display, which comes without protection, and you won’t mind the reduced storage, you should save you some money by buying the Vivo V7.
