Uber introduced its cab aggregating services here in India 4 years ago. To celebrate the 500 million mark, Uber gave a reward of Rs. 5,000 to the 176 drivers and Uber Credit worth Rs. 500 to the passengers who were in those cabs at that time.

  In the blog post, Uber has told that the company has now expanded to over 29 cities in the country. Also, Uber is currently enjoying 5 million active riders per week here in India. Coming to Driver partners, Uber has a strength of 4,50,000 registered Driver-Partners. The 500 million ride milestone was achieved by Uber when 176 rides were booked at the same time. 32 rides were booked from Delhi, 29 from Hyderabad, 24 from Bangalore, 18 from Mumbai, 17 from Kolkata and 13 from Chennai. The remaining rides were booked from Lucknow, which registered 3 rides. The longest of 176 rides being 45.8 Kilometers, the ratings were 5 Star for 74% driver-partners. Amit Jain, President, Uber India and South Asia said, “Achieving new milestones and continuing our exponential growth journey is a reflection of a strong business we’re building in India. I’m humbled at the pace at which Uber has grown and the impact we continue to make to the lives of our riders, driver partners and the cities we operate in”. Apart from the recent milestone, Uber has been recently active here in India. The Cab hailer had recently introduced UPI payment method for Android users. A share pass service is also launched by Uber to facilitate daily commuters and save money.
