Both of these smartphones are powered by MediaTek Turbo Quad core processor MT6589T clocked at a frequency of 1.5 GHz. As we all know by now this processor is tad bit faster than other processors in the Mt6589 series and has a PowerVR SGX544 MP GPU clocked at a higher frequency. Both these smartphones are equipped with 2 GB of RAM which should be sufficient enough to ensure smooth performance. The Saffron 1 will be available in two internal storage variants of 16 GB, priced at 18,000 INR and 32 GB priced at 23,000 INR. The Saffron 2 will come with 32 GB of Internal storage and is priced at 24,000 INR. The Internal storage is expandable to 64 GB in all of these devices using microSD Card. Saffron 1 has a 5 Inch Full HD display which will give you a pixel density of 441 ppi. This constitutes for a sharp good quality display. The display will be powered by a 3150 mAh battery which is better than the recent mid range FHD devices like Intex Aqua i7 and Lenovo Vibe X.
The Saffron 2 Phablet has a 6.5 Inch Full HD display which unfortunately will be powered by a same 3150 mAh battery and we can expect the on screen time to be significantly reduced in this phablet. Both these smartphones feature 13 MP primary camera and a 5 MP front camera which is the best combination Mt6589T can support effectively. Both of these smartphones have Android 4.2 Jelly bean operating system which is upgradeable. The hardware specifications pose a very interesting combination. The saffron 2 might have some battery issues but we expect Saffron 1 to perform very well. You can pre order Saffron 1 16GB, Saffron 1 32GB and Saffron 2 for Rs. 999 for now.
