Simmtronics XPAD Freedom is a calling tablet which sports a 7.8 Inch IPS LCD display with 1024 x 768 pixels resolution which is pretty good resolution similar to 8 inch Xolo Tab (Quick Review) and Micromax Canvas Tab P650(Quick Review). This tablet is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad core processor whose make or architecture has not been specified. The RAM capacity is 1 GB and the internal storage is 8 GB which is extendable to 32 GB using a a microSD card. The internal memory is more than Xolo Tab’s 4 GB and less than Canvas Tab’s 16 GB. Similar to Micromax Canvas Tab this phone comes with a 5 MP camera at the back and a 2 MP camera at the front. The battery backup is also pretty impressive at 5000 mAh which Simmtronics claim will give you 6 hours of video playback time. The tablet runs on Android 4.2 jelly bean operating system and Connectivity features include Wi-Fi, Micro USB, Micro HDMI and 3G. This calling tablet comes with dual SIM support although not everyone will be comfortable calling with the large size tablet and the presence of SIM card lets you use Apps like WhatsApp which are quite popular. The tablet provides with good value for money and seems like a better option than Xolo Tab. Micromax Canvas TaB has the advantage of more internal storage, but again it is more expensive too. But if you don’t need a SIM card slot and 3G, you can consider Nexus 7 first generation which is available for Rs. 9,999 only. Simmtronics has also given due importance to the build quality as is evident from its Metallic finish and mono crystalline diamond cut edges. The tablet is listed on Flipkart and will be soon available for purchase.
