Reliance Jio DTH has been in news since last year after some alleged pictures of its set-top box emerged online. Earlier last week some media report suggested that the Jio DTH set-top box is still in the testing phase and the company is experimenting to add new features such as Android platform, and voice-enable setup to Jio DTH set-top box. Also, the images leaked online last year showed off the remote control along with the set-top box image. While both the images were convincing enough to make us believe that Jio DTH could be a reality soon, however, there hasn’t been any announcement from Reliance Jio related to DTH services in India.

The leaked picture looked similar to the one as Google Chromecast, hinting that maybe it was fake and there was no authenticity that it belonged to Reliance Jio. Now, Reliance Jio itself clarified that it is not planning to introduce its DTH services in India anytime soon, as per a report by Gizbot. The report citing sources close to the company, claims that DTH plans are not on cards for Reliance Jio. However, it is not yet clear if this confirmation comes just to stop the buzz around Jio DTH or it is an actual information. It is worth mentioning here that some swindlers are misusing the hype created by Jio to blindly draw people into their scam and dupes them of their money. Earlier, several fake JioCoin apps were found on Play Store that were soliciting money in cryptocurrencies from the people. The company had said that all such apps are fake and the users must not deal with any of them.
