Earlier: Xiaomi‘s new sub-brand Redmi has unveiled its new Redmi Go smartphone in Europe. This is the first phone from the company that is based on Google’s Android Go platform. The key features of the budget phone include a 5-inch HD display and quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor.
Redmi Go Specifications
According to the report, the new Redmi Go sports a 5-inch HD screen. It is said to be powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC. Memory wise, it will include 1GB of RAM and 8GB of inbuilt storage which can be expanded with a microSD. In the camera department, it will have an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front camera.
Connectivity options on the phone will include 4G VoLTE, dual-SIM, Micro-USB port, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.2. The Redmi Go is expected to be running on Android 8.1 Oreo Go edition. The phone will be powered by a 3,000mAh battery.
Price, availability
The Redmi Go is priced less than EUR 80 (roughly Rs. 6,500) in Europe. It will go on sale in Europe starting in February. To recall, the smartphone was spotted last week on Philippines retailer Lazada and now also has launched there too. Redmi Go price in the Philippines is 3990 Philippine Peso which translates to Rs. 5,460. The India launch and availability is still unknown but we expect it in the coming weeks.
