realme X2 First Impressions
Design: 3D Glass body
Realme X2, just like the Realme X2 comes with a glass back. The back panel is curved around the edges that create a 3D hyperbola that makes it look more premium under the light. It is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It comes in white and blue as well as a new green color. The green color unit looked unique in comparison to other realme phones.
On the front, there is a Dewdrop notch display that we have already seen on several Realme phones in the past.
The frame of the phone is metallic, the power button with a yellow accent is on the right side and volume rockers are on the left.
On the bottom, you get a USB Type-C port, 3.5mm jack, and a speaker grille. The realme X2 is slim and lightweight too, so you use it with one hand easily.
Display: Super AMOLED
The Realme X2 sports a 6.4-inch FHD+ (1080×2340) Super AMOLED display, just like the Realme X2. The display looks good and also offers vibrant & rich colors and good viewing angles. The daylight visibility is also good.
The Realme X2 also has an in-display fingerprint sensor which is optical and performs similar to other phones with this sensor.
64MP Quad Camera
One of the USPs of the Realme X2 is its 64MP quad-camera setup at the back. We get a separate 64MP mode in the settings and the 64MP photo can be zoomed in to the max while you cannot do this to the normal shots.
In addition to the 64MP main camera, there is an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The wide-angle lens does capture a large area but it doesn’t offer details in photos. The main camera also comes with Nightscape mode, Chroma Boost, and HDR features. The night mode is impressive just like before. Overall, the main camera does a great job in daylight conditions and colors look rich even without the Chroma Boost feature.
32MP Selfie Camera
The selfie camera is a 32-megapixel sensor. The few times when Abhishek used the front camera, it clicked decent selfies, especially in the daylight. Overall, the camera is great and you will be able to click good pictures but you will not feel much difference because of a 64MP sensor. However, it is still better than other phones in this price segment.
Processor
Realme X2 is powered by a new Snapdragon 730G SoC, which is the same chip powering the recently launched Redmi K30. It is a 2.2Ghz octa-core 8nm processor and is equipped with an Adreno 618 GPU. The Realme X2 comes packed with up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 128GB of UFS 2.1 internal storage. Also, it supports storage expandability up to 256GB.
This gaming-centric chipset is capable of rendering most of the games flawlessly. However, you still won’t be able to max out the settings in PUBG Mobile.
Software & UI: Still ColorOS 6
The new realme X2 also runs ColorOS 6.0.1 based on Android 9.0 Pie just like the previous realme phones and it doesn’t come with the latest version of ColorOS. The user interface is mainly unchanged and there’s a lot of customization options available.
If we talk about software updates, you’ll have to wait until Q1 2020 to get the Android 10 based ColorOS 7 update on realme X2.
Battery & 30W Fast Charger
The Realme X2 packs a 4,000mAh battery and it easily lasts for a whole day when we use it moderately. The phone supports 30W VOOC 3.0 fast charging, which takes 75 minutes to charge the device 100 percent from 0.
