The Snapdragon 800 chipset, with Adreno 320 GPU left nothing to complain about and its successor will deliver 40 percent boost in graphic performance using the New Adreno 320 GPU while consuming the same power. This helps this chipset to be the first one to offer system level Ultra HD 4K video support. You will get support for Ultra HD resolution on-device display with output to HDTV. The Snapdragon 805 chipset has improved the memory bandwidth to 25.6 GB/second which is almost double than what Snapdragon 800 offered (12.4 GB/sec). The Snapdragons now stand above Exynos Octa (14.9 GB/sec) in this regard as well. The Quad core processor with improved Krait 450 cores (32 Bit) instead of Krait 400 in Snapdragon 400 will be clocked at 2.5 GHz. Though most of the Snapdragon 800 devices have 2.26 GHz clock frequency, the 2.5 GHz version of Snapdragon 800 also surfaced recently. Snapdragon 800 MSM8974AC clocked at 2.5 GHz will reportedly power Gionee Elife E7, which will be announced in China Soon. On the Imaging front, this will be the first Qualcomm chipset with dedicated camera processor which will significantly improve image quality and camera speed. It will also have Gyro-sensor to stabilize captured photos. On the connectivity front this chipset features Qualcomm Gobi MDM9x25 or the Gobi MDM9x35 modem for LTE carrier aggregation and LTE Category 4 with superior peak data rates of up to 150Mbps, Low-power PCIe interface to the QCA6174 for faster mobile Wi-Fi performance (over 600 Mbps). The core architecture remains 32 bit. The snapdragon 800 was a processing beast and dominated the market this year. We are eager to see the Ultra HD (4K) support incorporated in this chipset which will happen sometime around mid 2014.
