Camera and Internal Storage
Panasonic Eluga S features an 8 MP AF primary camera with LED Flash, capable of full HD video recording. Lenovo has also highlighted the front 5 MP selfie camera in Eluga S. It comes with a new Blink Play feature which recognizes your blinking eyes and activates a 3 second countdown to automatically click selfies. Internal storage is standard 8 GB and you can further extend this by another 32 GB using microSD card slot. 8 GB internal storage is quite standard in this price range and this shouldn’t be a deal breaker for moderate and basic users.
Processor and Battery
Eluga S is powered by low end variant of MT6592 True octa core chipset clocked at 1.4 GHz. 8 cortex A7 cores will be assisted by 1 GB RAM for smooth multitasking. The same chipset is also employed in phones like HTC Desire 616. We would have liked more RAM to make better use of octa core SoC, but at these prices there is no reason to complain. Battery capacity is 2100 mAh which sounds average considering the display size and chipset. Battery capacity is expected to last one day with moderate usage. Since its a Unibody smartphone, battery isn’t removable
Display and Other Features
The display used is 5 inches in size with 720p HD resolution amounting to 259.6 pixels per inches. Regarding ppi count, this is as good as any in this price range and since Panasonic is using IPS LCD panel, you can expect great viewing angles as well. Panasonic hasn’t mentioned any protection layer on top. Software is Android 4.4 Kitkat, which is no longer the latest Android flavor after the arrival of Android L, but will still suffice for rich android experience. Other features include 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.

Conclusion and Price
Apart from internal hardware, attention has been paid to exterior design as well. Panasonic has trimmed down bezels and provided a faux leather back cover as well on this unibody smartphone. On paper, everything looks decent enough. There is something for selfie lovers as well. However, intense competition in the 10k to 15K price range will affect its sales adversely. You can buy it for 11,190 INR starting in third week of November.
