We at Gadgetstouse have received an official invite from the firm for an event to be held on July 24 in New Delhi. It is claimed that the firm’s XonPhone 5 smartphone will be launched at its event and that it will be made available for sale exclusively via online retailer Snapdeal. However, the pricing and specific release date of the device will be announced at the time of its release on Thursday. It is also said that OPlus CEO Soumitra Gupta, Director of Sales Ranadip Kundu and Snapdeal’s Senior Vide President of Marketing Sandeep Komaravelly will be present at the launch event. XonPhone 5 is the flagship smartphone of OPlus and according to the company listing the device is given a 5 inch IPS OGS display with HD 720p resolution and good viewing angle and a quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor clocked at 1.3 GHz paired with 1 GB of RAM. The XonPhone 5 comes with 16 GB of native storage capacity that can be expanded externally up to 32 GB via a micro SD card and runs on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system. The camera aspects of the device include an 8 MP primary snapper with auto focus and LED flash paired with a 2 MP front-facing shooter that sound moderate. Furthermore, the dual SIM device is said to incorporate a 2,000 mAh battery that can pump in a decent backup of up to 15 hours of talk time and up to 300 hours of standby time. Other notable features onboard include external speakers designed by Yamaha and sensors such as Ambient light sensor, Infrared distance sensor and Gravity sensor.
