The Nokia 3, which has been priced at Rs. 9,499 in India is the company’s cheapest smartphone yet. Now, the HMD Global-owned company is looking to target first time smartphone buyers with the Nokia 2. Apart from the B&H listing, the device from Nokia was also spotted on FCC.
Nokia 2 Specifications
The Nokia 2 is expected to run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the box and the device is expected to receive an update for Android 8.0 Oreo soon after its launch. Nokia has been relatively fast in providing monthly security updates compared to others. The device is expected to come with a 5 inch HD IPS LCD display. As seen in the images, the device this time will come with on-screen navigation buttons. This will be the first phone from Nokia that does not use capacitive touch buttons. It is expected to be powered by a 1.4GHz Quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 chipset, which is the successor of the Snapdragon 210. It will come with 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded via microSD card. Coming to the cameras, the device will come with an 8MP primary camera with an LED flash. On the front, the device will come with a 5MP secondary camera. The device does not come with a fingerprint sensor but it’s okay as it is a sub-$100 device. The main highlight of the device is its 4,000mAh battery. The device is expected to be launched in November and come with a price tag of $99 (Rs. 6,400).
