This new Gmail update makes addresses and phone numbers that you get on the mail clickable. Clicking on an Address would directly launch Google Maps and clicking on a phone number would launch the Phone app. In the past, it was quite a task if you were to get phone numbers and addresses in the mail. You’d have to manually select, copy and paste the number from the Gmail app to the Phone app. However, with this new Gmail update, you can just click on the phone number and straight away dial it! Moreover, finding addresses too, has become much easier. Users would simply have to tap on the address links and they’d automatically take them to Google Maps and show the location. This is truly a much appreciated Gmail update and helps save quite some time.

The update is rolling out not only for the Gmail users, but also for the users of the Inbox by Gmail app. This Gmail update is rolling out for users of the aforementioned apps on Android OS as well as iOS. Google has been known for updating their apps from time to time and this Gmail update is a good example of such useful updates. However one can’t help but wonder why this wasn’t done ages ago already, at least for the phone numbers. Well, better late than never! This feature is indeed going to help save time.
