Build Quality, Design and Form Factor
New 2014 Moto G 2nd Gen looks bigger and better than the old Moto G and it has the same good build quality with matte rubberized finish rear back cover which gives a great feel and nice grip in yours hands. It looks like a bigger version of the old Moto G but has better front profile looks with dual chrome finish speaker grills which looks cool. The form factor of the phone has changed as due to its bigger size but still it does not feel heavy at 149 grams and thanks to curved back cover it does not feel too bulky as well.
Camera Performance
The rear 8MP camera takes good photos in day light and low light performance is also decent if not great. Rear camera can also shoot HD videos at 720p only and it can also record slow motion videos. Front 2 MP fixed focus camera is good for video chat and also for taking selfie shots and selfie with timer is also supported. Camera Samples

Display, Memory and Battery Backup
It has got a 5 Inch 720p display which has good viewing angles and sunlight visibility. You can see photos and videos from different viewing angles without any issues. Pixel density of the display is around 294 pixels per inch which is good most of the things does not look pixelated on this display. In built memory of the device is 16Gb and around 11 Gb is available to the user, OTG is supported as well. You cannot move apps to SD card which makes difficult in future and memory card slot can take upto 32 GB but apps will always reside on the internal storage of the phone. It can give you around one day of backup without any issues with moderate usage or basic usage but if you play games or watch videos for more than 30 minutes then it will gives you less then one day of backup. Battery backup on the new Moto G is better than its predecessor. On continuous usage it can give you around 4-5 hours.
Software, Benchmarks and Gaming
The software UI is the most impressive and smoothest thing on this phone. The complete user interface is almost stock android and runs without any crash or lag. You can play any HD game on this phone which includes MC5, Front Line Commando D Day and Blood and Glory etc but make sure to have enough storage for the same. Benchmark Scores

Sound, Video and Navigation
Loudspeaker is louder than original but not very loud which I was expecting but still its good enough in competition. You can play HD video at 720p and 1080p video on this device without any issues, but you might need third party MX Player to play some 1080p videos. GPS navigations works on this phone, you also have all the sensor required for precise GPS navigation. It can lock GPS coordinates in outdoors and indoors depending on signal strength it might take few minutes.

Conclusion and Price
New 2014 Moto G 2nd Gen is available to be bought from flipkart for Rs. 12999 and for the price it’s a good smartphone, however since the launch the Original Moto G the competition has increased and right now it may not the best hardware you can get for the price, but its one of the best combination of the good hardware with great software.
