Display and Processor

Moto E sports a 4.3 inch screen as compared to Canvas Power A96 which flaunts a 5 inch TFT display. Though the size of display in Canvas Power A96 is more but it gets nullified by the lower resolution of 480 x 854 it offers. Moto E leads the line here with a resolution of 540 x 960 and a pixel density of 256 ppi. Moto E  comes with cornerning Gorila glass 3 to protect its display. Moto E packs a Snapdragon 200 1.2 Ghz dual core processor based on cortex A7 architecture and 28 nm process technology while Canvas Power A96 has a Mediatek MT6582M 1.3 Ghz Quad core processor under its hood. In general usage all the cores are not running but when it comes to intensive usage Moto E might lose out and run out of steam.

Camera and Internal Storage

Moto E has a 5 MP shooter same as that of the Canvas Power A96. Moto E lacks an LED flash and a front cam which is a disappointment. Micromax Canvas Power A96 camera though has an LED flash but the image quality is quite average. Canvas Power A96 is also capable of recording HD videos with its camera. Moto E has 1 GB RAM as compared to Micromax Canvas Power A96 which has just 512 MB RAM. Motorola has improved on by offering expandable micro SD support to Moto E which was not available for Moto G. Moto E has 4 GB internal storage expandable to 32 GB. Micromax Canvas Power A96 also packs in the same space. At this price Motorola could not have offered more.

Battery and Other Features

Moto E has a 1980 mAh Li-ion cell while Micromax Canvas Power A96 is powered by a mammoth 4000 mAh Li-ion battery. Motorola has confirmed that Moto E will deliver a 24 hours backup on mixed usage which is a positive as a budget phones generally do not give a good backup. Canvas Power A96 mammoth battery does not do justice to its size and has a below par backup. Canvas Power A96 offers a standby time of only 450 hours. Moto E runs the latest Android 4.4 kitkat while Canvas Power A96 works with the older Android 4.2 jellybean. Motorola has confirmed that there will be a guaranteed update to the next Android version. Moto E also will have optional multi-coloured grip shells. Moto E will comes preloaded with Moto Alert which will protect your handset from theft.
