Display and Processor
The Moto G flaunts a 4.5 inch IPS LCD capacitive touch screen display that packs HD resolution of 1280×720 pixels that translates to a pixel density of 326 ppi. The Moto G comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection to prevent the display from attracting scratches and damage. Being an IPS panel, the screen will definitely deliver excellent viewing angles and contrast. The Panasonic P31, on the other hand features a 5 inch FWVGA resolution of 480×800 pixels and a low pixel density of 195 ppi. The panel has an Ultra Oleophobic coating that makes it fingerprint resistant. Also, Panasonic bundles a free screen guard along with this handset. On the whole, the Moto G is a clear winner as it comes with increased screen resolution paving way to better pixel density. When it comes to the hardware, the Moto G is equipped with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 SoC that ticks at 1.2 GHz that is coupled with Adreno 305 GPU. In comparison, the Panasonic P31 comes stuffed with a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor with Mali 400 MP2 graphics unit. Apart from this, the Moto G features 1 GB of RAM that can handle the multi-tasking department smoothly as compared to the 512 MB of RAM in its opponent.

The Moto G includes a 5 MP rear camera with auto focus and LED flash and has a 1.3 MP front-facing snapper at the front for making video calls. Talking about the Panasonic P31, the handset has a camera set comprising of an 8 MP primary snapper and a VGA shooter at the front for basic video chatting. Hence, we can say that the Panasonic offering packs better camera capabilities as far as the primary camera is concerned. To handle the storage needs, the Moto G is of two variants – 8 GB and 16 GB of internal storage while there is only a low 4 GB of inbuilt storage in the Panasonic P31. However, the latter supports expandable storage up to 32 GB with the help of a micro SD card that the Moto G lacks.
Battery and Features
The Moto G is given a 2,070 mAh battery that can deliver a backup of 24 hours of talk time that is impressive. On the other hand, the Panasonic P31 features a 2,000 mAh battery that is rated to deliver up to 13 hours of talk time and 650 hours of standby time. Thereby, the Moto G becomes the winner in the power management segment as well. When it comes to the software, the Moto G runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system that is the latest iteration of the platform announced so far. But, the Panasonic smartphone is still stuck with the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system. For connectivity, both the smartphones have a host of features such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G and micro USB 2.0 along with dual SIM support.

Price and Conclusion
Both the Moto G and Panasonic P31 fall almost in the same price bracket and they are dual SIM smartphones with more or less similar aspects. However, the Moto G is a better offering with a HD display, improved battery life and increased battery life. On the other hand, the Panasonic phone comes packed with improved rear camera, but there should not be much difference between the two phones in terms of photography and has a large display.
