Question – Does Unite 3 have Corning Gorilla Glass Protection? Answer – No, Gorilla Glass 3 protection is not there. Question – How is the Display of Unite 3? Answer – The display quality is average. The 4.7 Inch display has 480 x 800 pixels which isn’t very impressive. The texts and other content appears soft. Colors and viewing angles are average too. Question – How is the Design and Build Quality? Answer – Design is very simple. The handset looks sturdy, but slightly heavy for the footprint it occupies. The rear plastic back cover has matte finish and the rear plastic folds to form side edges. On the whole the build quality is decent and simple. Question – Are Capacitive buttons backlit? Answer – No, the capacitive keys are not backlit. Question – Is there any heating issue? Answer – We didn’t observe any abnormal heating on Unite 3 in our review unit, though temperature spikes sometimes, but we didn’t find anything worth sweating for. Question – What comes inside the Box? Answer – 1 Ampere wall charger, documentation, USB cable, Screen guard and headphones Question – What size SIM card is supported? Answer – There is one Normal SIM card slot and one Micro SIM. Cellular video calling or call recording is not supported. Secondary mic for noise cancelation is not present. Question – Does it have LED notification light? Answer – Yes, LED notification light is present. Question – How much is Free Storage? Answer – Out of 8 GB, around 4.9 GB is available at user end. Apps cannot be transferred or installed on SD card.

Question – Does it support USB OTG? Answer – Yes, USB OTG is supported Question – How much is free RAM on first boot? Answer – More than 600 RAM is available on first boot. Question – How is the Camera Quality? Answer – Camera quality for front and rear camera is average. The camera takes time to focus and you have to be absolutely stable to avoid motion blur. The details and colors reproduction is fairly good. Question – How is the performance ? How much did it score on Antutu and Nenamarks?
Answer – Antutu score on our review unit is 20727 and 64.3 fps on Nenamarks 2. The chipset has present in most 2014 smartphones and we have experienced it in several devices as of now. Performance in long run wont be a problem for basic and moderate users. High end games also ran without any major lag, but the handset isn’t meant for aggressive gaming.
Answer – Software is Android 5.0 Lollipop based custom UI. First home screen lists big icons for quick access to basic phone operations. there is no app drawer and Icons in the dock are huge. You will get all Lollipop benefits, but design of the interface isn’t very attractive. There are several pre-installed apps, but the good thing is you can uninstall all of them. 10 regional languages and gesture support is also present. Question – How many sensors does Unite 3 have? Question – How loud is Loudspeaker? Answer – Loudspeaker is reasonably loud, but sound gets blocked to a large extent when the phone is resting on its back. Question – Can Unite 3 Play Full HD 1080p Videos? Answer – Yes, the handset can play Full HD 1080p and HD 720p videos. Question – How is the battery backup? Answer – Battery backup is decent enough for one day basic and moderate usage. Heavy users might have to keep their charger handy through the day. Question – What is the SAR Value of Unite 3? Answer – The highest SAR value tested for Unite 3 is 0.20 W/kg @ 1g (Head) W/kg @ 1 g(Head) and 0.40 W/kg @ 1g (Body) W/Kg @ 1g(Body), which is pretty good.
Conclusion
Micromax Canvas Unite 3 improves upon Unite 2, but in one year market has rapidly grown very competitive. Unite 3 doesn’t bring anything new to the table and is primarily meant for offline market where it will be retailed via Micromax’s well established distribution network.
