Display and Processor
The Canvas Knight comes shod with a 5 inch which has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels with the pixel density standing at 441ppi. The screen is a pretty bright unit to look at and you won’t really get to complain in this regard. The Intex Aqua Octa on the other hand has a 6 inch screen with a 1280 x 720 pixels resolution and a pixel density of 244ppi so it simply does not come even close to the Micromax offering. Both have the same MediaTek MT6592 Octa Core processor with the Intex Aqua Octa getting clocked at 1.7GHz and Canvas Knight getting clocked at 2GHz which makes it perform better. Both the smartphones get a Mali 450 MP4 GPU.
Camera and Internal Storage
Canvas Knight gets a 16MP rear camera with a Largan M8 lens which fetches you sharper images and an 8MP secondary camera as well. It clearly is a better performer than the imaging unit of the Intex Aqua Octa which has a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. The internal storage of the Canvas Knight stands at 32GB whereas that of the Intex counterpart stands at 16GB. There’s no expandable storage is Canvas Knight whereas you get a microSD card slot in the competitor which will support cards of up to 32GB. We think that 32GB is pretty much more than enough so you wouldn’t miss the lack of memory expansion.
Battery and Operating System
Canvas Knight gets a 2,350 mAh battery whereas the Aqua Octa gets a 2,300 mAh battery. In real world conditions, both of them are expected to offer a battery life of about a day. One has a bigger battery but a full HD screen to power and the other one has a bigger screen with lesser resolution so performance won’t differ by a margin that would sway your decision. Both run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out-of-the box but the Micromax offering has a better chance of getting future upgrades compared to the Intex one so we suggest that you go in for the Canvas Knight if you want to get an upgrade an future.
Key Specs
Conclusion
Both have the same heart but the Canvas Knight gets clocked better, it gets a better screen, is more pocketable, has a better camera, internal storage and will probably get an upgrade in the software department as well in future. At the same price, the Canvas Knight comes across as a better device.
