Couple of months back, Micromax introduced 1 GB RAM variant of Doodle 3 and discontinued the 512 MB RAM variant. Looks like in spite of moderate specifications the phone is ringing the cash registers for Micromax and the company isn’t willing to give up on its 6 inch Phablet just yet. Micromax Doodle 3 comes with a 6 inch display featuring 480 X 854 which amounts to mere 163 pixels per inches. Internal storage is 4 GB and can be further expanded to 32 GB using MicroSD card support. At the heart of the device, you will find 1.3 GHz dual core MT6572 SoC coupled with 1 GB RAM. Imaging hardware includes 5 MP rear camera and a VGA front unit. Doodle 3 hasn’t been designed for heavy lifting and seems quite mismatched for its ~8,000 INR price tag. Micromax hasn’t still provided OTA software update for most of the best selling devices and this is slightly disappointing coming from India’s no.1 selling mobile brand. However all new Micromax devices feature Android KitKat OS. Micromax’s partnership with Google for Android One project will perhaps improve the upgrade process.
