Meizu Mx4Hands on Video Review

Design, Build and Display
The design and build quality is impressive. In spite of being a 5.4 Inch display smartphone, it feels compact than most phablets in the same class. It also feels extremely light with well balanced weight. The rounded soft plastic back makes it fit comfortably in hands. Meizu Mx4 is also pretty solid and sturdy. On the whole Meizu has done an excellent job trimming all the unnecessary bezels.
The metal frame with metal keys surround the display, which is an IPS LCD panel sourced from Sharp technology. The display has been well calibrated with good colors, brightness and viewing angles. The whites weren’t exactly dazzling, but that will be nit picking at this moment. The display is pretty sharp and high end worthy. Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection is also layered on top.
Processor and RAM
Processor used is MT6595 4G LTE SoC with support for both TDD LTE and FDD LTE. The chipset is build on big.LITTLE architecture with 4 Cortex A17 cores and 4 Cortex A7 cores clocked at 2.2 GHz and 1.7 GHz respectively. Graphics are handled by PowerVR G6200 MP4 GPU which can handle full HD resolution very smoothly, giving off the roof Antutu score of 47,000.
In our brief time with the device, everything felt top notch. There is ample 2 GB RAM for efficient multi tasking. This is one of the most powerful mediatek processor till date, and by a margin, so we are quite optimistic about performance.
Camera and Internal Storage
The rear 20 MP camera pushed MT6595 to its limits. There was no stutter even while recording 4k videos. The large 1/ 2.3 Inch sensor captures good amount of light even in low light conditions. We will reserve our verdict for later when we have spent more time with the device in outdoor environment.
Internal storage is 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB depending on the variant you choose. The storage is however not expandable.
User interface and Battery
The Android 4.4.2 Kitkat with Flyme ROM is inspired from iOS. There is only one navigation and we do like app drawers and options. The UI is quite colorful and light. There is good gesture support and Spotlight search for heavy users. Whether you like it or not will be subjective according to your taste Battery capacity is 3100 mAh, and since MediaTek is promising better battery efficiency with MT6595 we are expecting comfortable one day usage. We will comment more on the battery backup after our full review.
Conclusion and Price
Meizu Mx4 is definitely an impressive device which will help Meizu get back in the game and compete with rivals like Xiaomi. Meizu is shipping to India as well and you can buy this from Meizu mart. The 16 GB version will cost you around 27,000 INR and the device definitely seems worth the asking price.
