To recall, the earlier rumors revealed that the LG V30 will come with a dual-camera setup with one of the cameras featuring a wide-angle lens. The South Korean company is going to unveil the LG V30 on August 31, 2017, at the IFA in Berlin. Its predecessor, the LG V20, came with a wide f1.8 aperture lens. The f/1.6 aperture will offer 25% more light to the sensor compared to a f/1.8 lens. Further, LG has said that glass Crystal Clear Lens will deliver greater light-collecting ability than a plastic lens as well as better color reproduction. “LG boasts an unrivaled heritage in smartphone photography and our decision to adopt glass in the V30 camera is specifically because this has traditionally been the realm of DSLRs,” said Juno Cho, president of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.
The LG V30 camera will also reduce distortion by a third in comparison to the V20 when capturing wide angle shots. Moreover, the rear camera module is smaller in size compared to the V20 and also has laser detection AF, optical image stabilization (OIS) and electronic image stabilization (EIS). LG had already confirmed that the V30 would feature a 6-inch QHD+ (1440 × 2880 pixels) OLED FullVision display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The reports also suggest that the V30 won’t come with a secondary screen. Further, LG V30 is expected to feature a Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB RAM, and 64GB internal memory that can be expanded via microSD card. The phone is going to house a bigger battery than the V20. It will also feature IP68 water and dust resistance, quad DAC, headphone jack, and wireless charging.
