Display & Processor
The LG K10 comes with a 5.3 inch IPS LCD display with a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. You get a pixel density of ~277 PPI. It seems a little low compared to the competition – the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 comes with a full HD display at a price of INR 9,999. The phone is powered by a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, which should be enough given the fact that the display is of HD resolution only. In comparison, the LG K7 comes with a 5 inch IPS LCD display with a FWVGA resolution. At 854 x 480 pixels, you get a pixel density of ~196, which is quite low given the general specs in its price range currently. Additionally, it also comes with a dual core Snapdragon 210 processor. Again, this is very low-end in today’s market conditions.
User Interface & Operating System
The LG K10 and LG K7 both come with Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. Both phones come with LG’s custom UI on top and feature multiple value additions. In this case, choosing which smartphone to buy between the two is a little less complex. While both the phones run on the same operating system and feature the same custom skin, the LG K10 wins over the K7 because of its faster processor and extra RAM. With a custom skin, the K7 is going to struggle.
Camera & Storage
Given the fact that the K10 and the K7 are aimed at different price segments, there is a difference between the cameras as well. In fact, the difference is quite major. You get a 13 MP main camera on the K10 whereas the K7 comes with a 5 MP camera only. Both the main cameras come with an LED flash. The front cameras on both the phones are fixed at 5 MP, so there’s no difference here. The LG K10 comes with 16 GB internal storage which can be expanded further. You can use a microSD card to expand the internal storage by another 32 GB. The K7, on the other hand, comes with 8 GB internal storage along with microSD card support up to 32 GB.
Battery
Given that the price difference between these two phones is quite high, it’s a little surprising that both the K10 and K7 come with comparable batteries. While the LG K10 comes with a 2300 mAh battery, the LG K7 comes with a 2125 mAh battery. The K7 will outperform the K10 because of the lower resolution display and a slower processor.
Pricing & Availability
The LG K10 is available for purchase in the markets at a price of INR 13,500. The LG K7 is available at a price of INR 9,500.
Conclusion
There are quite a lot of better options than the LG K10 and the K7 in the market. Given the fact that India is a price sensitive market (more so compared to others), the pricing of the K10 and the K7 is a little out of touch with reality. Of course, if you are going to pick a device between these two, the K10 should be your choice. If you have any other questions, let us know in the comments below.
