Camera and Internal Storage
The Titanium S99 arrives with a 5 MP primary camera at its back coupled with LED flash. This camera is definitely not the choice for outstanding performance, but with a sub Rs 6,000 price tag, we cannot expect better things from the handset. This average camera is supplemented with a VGA front-facer that makes video calling and clicking self portrait shots easy. The internal storage capacity of the Titanium S99 stands at 4 GB and it can be expanded further by 32 GB with the help of a micro SD card slot that is available on the device. This is a standard package for the pricing, but almost all the smartphones in this segment arrive with such storage capabilities making it common.
Processor and Battery
The processor ticking in the Titanium S99 is a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor from MediaTek. This processor is backed by a 512 MB of RAM and both together will definitely pave way to average performance for a smartphone of this pricing. The battery unit in the handset is a 1,400 mAh one that will be undoubtedly capable of delivering only a mediocre backup of less than a day under mixed usage. Though this battery could not be satisfactory, the entry-level smartphones usually do compromise in many segments including battery life.
Display and Features
The display unit is a 4 inch IPS panel whose resolution is unknown, but it is assumed to be the standard WVGA 800 x 480 pixels. This display is pretty much average, but it should be capable of handling the usual tasks. With IPS technology, the display can deliver acceptable viewing angles, but it will definitely show that it is a budget offering. The Karbonn Titanium S99 runs on the latest version of Google’s OS – Android 4.4 KitKat that is being incorporated by the entry-level smartphones in this price bracket. Undoubtedly, it is a dual SIM smartphone with dual standby and has standard connectivity features such as 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.
Comparison
The Karbonn Titanium S99 will be going up against a slew of other sub Rs 7,000 smartphones including Moto E, iBerry Auxus Linea L1, Micromax Unite 2 A106 and Lava Iris X1

Price and Conclusion
The Karbonn Titanium S99 will definitely serve those consumers who are looking for decent entry-level smartphones. Especially, this handset will be a great advantage for those users who are looking to upgrade their feature phone to a smartphone for the first time. It runs on the latest version of the operating system, but it lags behind with an average camera and not so good display. On the whole it is a good performer as an entry-level smartphone, but we cannot expect anything more from this.
