Karbonn Titanium Octane Hands on Quick Review, Features, Camera, Software and Overview [Video]

Design and Build

The Karbonn Titanium Octane comes with plastic body and a matte finish at the rear which feels good to hold in hand. It won’t be a fingerprint magnet as well which is something we like all the more. It will be offered in a slew of colours after it becomes available and was showcased in red guise at the launch event. The device feels pretty light for its size.

You get the usual set of buttons on the device and at the same time, you get three on-screen buttons as well. The smartphone comes with a 5 inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels which produces decent colours for the price it commands but we liked the display unit of its sibling, the Karbonn Titanium Hexa.

Camera and Internal Storage

The Tianium Octane comes shod with a 13MP at the rear which gets an LED flash unit to complement it and it gets a slew of functionalities such as Panorama, Voice Capture and the likes. It produces good quality images for a sub Rs 15,000 device and will surely get your work done pretty easily. The front camera of the Titanium Octane Plus is a 5MP unit that performs decently enough.

The internal storage of the Titanium Octane stands at 16GB and it can be expanded via  a microSD card by another 32GB. So we don’t really have any complaints in this regard.

Battery, OS and Chipset

The Karbonn Titanium Octane has 2000 mAh Li-Ion battery giving it the juice. Though its specifications have not been revealed yet, we believe that will be at par with the competitors which offer a battery back up of a little less than a day in real world.

The Titanium Octane runs on Android 4.4 KitKat which is the thing we like the most about it. No other budget device in the country runs on the latest version of Amdroid and the smartphone surly outshines all its competition in this regard. It gets a 1.7 GHz Octa-core MT6592 Processor with Mali 450 MP4 GPU under the hood which in our opinion is pretty good for a device that costs a shade under Rs 15,000. It has all its 8 cores working simultaneously and will outshine all other budget quad core devices for sure.

Conclusion

The Titanium Octane comes across as a really high value for money device in the sub Rs 15,000 price bracket. Its octa core processor performs pretty well, has a decent camera unit and a good amount internal storage as well along with expandable storage. It has a good build quality and we think it will surely go on to become one of the better sellers in the suv Rs 15,000 segment.
