The new iRist Junior is the first IOT based wearable from any Indian brand, and it is powered by MT6261. It includes child tracking functionality via GPS, a 0.96 inch TFT display with a weight of around 48.5 grams. The iRist Pro is powered by the MT2502 SoC and comes with much needed features like water resistance, Bluetooth 4.0 and Android compatibility. Coming to the other major announcement, the MediaTek MT2502 (Aster) is said to be world’s smallest commercial SoC for any wearable. It also works with MediaTek’s energy efficient Wi-Fi and GNSSa companion chipsets. It runs at a frequency of 260MHz and can drop down to 26MHz for better battery performance. On the other hand, the MT2601 SoC is based on Google’s Android Wear software. It includes a 1.2 GHz dual-core ARM Cortex-A7, ARM Mali-400 MP GPU and supports qHD resolution display. Price: The Intex iRist Junior has been priced at Rs. 3,999 while the iRist Pro’s pricing will be revealed closer to its release date.
