Display and Processor
This is essentially the area where these two phablets differ. The Xolo Q3000 comes with a 5.7 inch IPS LCD display with Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080) which will give you 386 pixels per inches on the large size display, which is quite sharp. The Intex Aqua Octa will provide you with even bigger display with 6 Inch size. The IPS LCD Display also features One Glass Solution (OGS) technology, which eliminates certain display layers to give you closer, brighter and faster display. The pixel density of 720p HD display is 244 ppi which implies display wont be as sharp as in Xolo Q3000. The Xolo Q3000 packs the MediaTek MT6589T turbo chipset, which offers 4 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz and the power of PowerVR SGX 544 MP GPU clocked at 357 MHz. The chipset cant handle full HD resolution very well during high end graphic intensive gaming as per our past experience with several MT6589T Full HD smartphones, but serves other purposes well. The Intex Aqua Octa on the other hand carries the first true octa core chipset, MT6592, which houses 8 CPU cores clocked at 1.7 GHz. The GPU employed is Mali 450 MP4 GPU clocked at 700 MHz. Both of these smartphone chipsets house 2 GB RAM and the processing power of Intex Aqua Octa will definitely be much better.
Camera and Internal Storage
The camera specs in both of these phablets are same. Both will offer you a 13 MP primary Autofocus camera at the back capable of full HD 1080p video recording. LED flash is also present for low light photography. The Front camera of 5 MP is also present in both of these phablets for video chats. In Xolo Q3000 both the front and back camera have BSI sensor, for better low light performance. The Internal storage in Xolo Q3000 and Intex Aqua Octa is also same at 16 GB onboard storage extendable to 32 GB using MicroSD card. The On board storage is faster to read and write as compared to SD card storage and that is one of the primary reasons why it’s always good to have more of it.
Battery and Other Features
Battery has been a limiting factor in most MT6589T deices we have seen so far, but Xolo Q3000 has provided something refreshing in form of 4000 mAh battery capable of delivering 21 hours of talk time and 634 hours of standby time on 3G which is pretty amazing. Web browsing time will be 9 hours on 3G and up to 13 hours on WiFi. The Intex Aqua Octa on the other hand features paltry 2300 mAh which is not much considering the large 6 inch display and 4 extra CPU cores. You might have to carry a battery bank with you for uninterrupted support. The Intex Aqua Octa comes with dual Yamaha 1420 speakers with 1.2W output for good quality and loud audio. The Xolo Q3000 will have USB OTG support (not yet confirmed for Intex Aqua Octa). You will also get a free flip cover and OTG Cable in the box. Both of these smartphones operate on Android 4.2 Jelly bean operating system and support Dual SIM functionality.
Key Specs
Conclusion
If you are a dedicated gamer and plan on using graphic intensive apps on the large size display, Intex Aqua Octa with Octa core pride and Dual Yamaha speakers will be the phone for you. Being only 7 mm Thick, it will also be easier to hold in your hand. The Xolo Q3000 (8.9 mm) on the other hand will provide you with a sharper Full HD display and enough battery juice to enjoy it for prolonged duration, If you are not much into graphic intensive gaming, Xolo Q3000 should serve you better.
