Camera and Internal Storage

The Aqua i5 HD sports a 13 MP primary snapper at its rear accompanied with LED flash and it is claimed to have immense power to click high resolution flawless pictures and videos. There are smart camera applications such as voice command support that can capture a snap once the user says Cheese or Capture. Also, there is a 5 MP front-facer on the Intex smartphone that can make way for superior quality selfies and video calling features. Both these snappers are capable of capturing HD videos at 720p resolution. Given the price range of the handset, these photography aspects appear outstanding. However, the camera performance is terribly poor and not up to the mark. To handle the storage needs of the users, the smartphone packs the standard 4 GB of internal memory capacity that can be extended further up to 32 B with the help of a micro SD card. For those users who prefer to have more storage space, Intex is also providing an additional 5 GB of Intex Cloud storage space. On the whole, there is a total storage capacity of 41 GB that should be pretty much sufficient for users to storage all their content.

Processor and Battery

Under the hood, the Intex Aqua i5 HD employs a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor that is accompanied with a Mali 400 graphics unit. Taking charge of the multi-tasking department is 1 GB of RAM that can deliver acceptable performance. These aspects are on par with those in the competitors and there is no issue at all in this segment. The battery capacity in the Intex smartphone is 2,000 mAh, but the backup delivered by this is not known for now. However, the handset has power saving mode that is claimed to keep the battery active for long hours of use.

Display and Features

The Aqua i5 HD flaunts a 5 inch HD OGS display that carries a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. The presence of the OGS panel will definitely make the handset thinner than its challengers adding to the aesthetics. Though there is no IPS panel on the handset, the display appears to be brighter. Though the handset has been launched with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS, Intex has promised to roll out the Android v4.4.2 KitKat update to it sometime soon. And, there are the usual sensors such as light ambient sensor, proximity sensor, magnetic sensor and G sensor on board along with connectivity features such as 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and dual SIM capability.

Comparison

The handset will definitely fall in a direct rivalry with phones such as Micromax Canvas 2 A120 Colours, Spice Pinnacle Stylus Mi-550, Gionee M2, Micromax Canvas Power and Celkon A118 Signature HD.

As far as the pricing is concerned, the Intex smartphone bears a tempting price tag of Rs 9,990. Also, the phone packs some outstanding aspects such as brighter display, quad-core processor, free cloud storage space and power saving features. However, the handset’s camera that appears impressive on paper needs improvement to deliver superior results.
