However, as of now, there is no official statement in this regard has been issued from Instagram. According to TechCrunch’s report, APKs have been spotted with an icon for a Portrait shutter for the Stories camera. So, this could be the feature that will let people click stylized portraits with bokeh effect or blurred backgrounds or even other effects. The portrait mode icon would show up overlaid on the Instagram camera shutter button when you swipe it to any mode. However, it is still unclear whether Instagram’s portrait mode will just be a single setting or include more ways to stylize an image. Many smartphones these days include a portrait mode option in their default cameras. Though, users click pictures with default camera a lot in order to upload it on Instagram and other social media accounts, however, users mostly record content with the in-app stories cameras in Instagram and Snapchat that offer many editing and special effects. So, portrait mode on Instagram could add extra creativeness for pictures. Obviously, the portrait effect in Instagram will be made via software. We have seen good results of this software method on the Google Pixel 2, but it will be interesting to see how this will work for an app that is used by millions of users with different Android phones. Instagram always works constantly to evolve itself to stay interesting. This Portrait mode could not only bring back Instagram to its main roots which are helping people create images worth sharing but also it will help the Facebook-owned app to take on the rivals like Snapchat. We might see this feature anytime soon but Instagram has declined to comment on the TechCrunch’s report as of now.
