Compared to HTC One M9, One M9 Plus dials down some specs but adds some extra features HTC fans have been clamoring for. Major differences include Mediatek MT6795T chip instead of Snapdragon 810 SoC, additional fingerprint sensor, depth sensor for rear camera and the presence of Quad HD display resolution instead of Full HD in One M9 plus.

HTC One M9+ has a 5.2 Inch Super LCD 3 display with trendier Quad HD 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution, which amounts to 534 pixels per inches. The display is protected by scratch resistant and fall enduring Gorilla Glass 4. HTC had chosen to go with Full HD for its flagship One M9, but has surprisingly offered these extra pixels in One M9+. This does cast further aspersions on already struggling Snapdragon 810 SoC. All pixels will be handled by MediaTek Helio X10 (MT6795T) Octa-Core 64-bit processor with PowerVR G6200 GPU, 3 GB RAM and 32 GB expandable storage. The chipset includes 8 64 bit Cortex A53 cores all clocked at 2.2 GHz.

Imaging hardware remains almost same, with a 20.7 MP rear camera with Toshibas sensor similar to M9. The handset also retains depth sensor from One M8 for UFocus feature (bokeh effect and refocus). On the front side, there is a 4 MP Ultra pixel camera. A touch based fingerprint sensor similar to Apple and Samsung implementation is also included. Other features include a 2840 mAh battery, 4G LTE, Bluetooth, NFC, WiFi ac, Boomsound speakers with dolby audio, 128 GB MicroSD card support, GPS and Glonass. HTC One M9+ will be available in Gold on Silver and Gold on Gold with all major retailers from early May. HTC is offering Myntra.com vouchers worth 15,000 INR and 1 year insurance against accidental or liquid damage with the purchase of HTC One M9 Plus for free. HTC Dot view cases will also be made available in India.
