The Mediatek octa core is chipset is clocked at 1.4 GHz instead of conventional 1.7 or 2 GHz. The MT6592 chipset is backed by 1 GB RAM, Mali 450 MP4 GPUand only 4 GB internal storage which is kind of disappointing at this price range. The storage can be further extended by another 32 GB using MicroSD card support. The display is 5 inches in size with 720 x 1280 pixel resolution. At this price range we would have liked a full HD display but HD resolution won’t be an absolute deal breaker. The dated Android 4.2 Jelly bean with HTC Sense 5.5 UI on top might very well be. Imaging hardware includes an 8 MP rear shooter capable of full HD 1080p video recording and a 2 MP front camera capable of HD video chat. Battery capacity is 2000 mAh which is again quite average. Other features include Dual SIM functionality, Blinkfeed, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS with a-GPS. HTC Desire 616 doesn’t strike as outright impressive and seems over priced for the features it offers. It will be available in Dark Grey and White colors for a mid range price of 16,900 INR. With these specifications Xiaomi Mi3 seems to be a much better option at a cheaper price range.
