But Google has not taken into account one annoying feature which was there from the first version of Google Chrome. It is the downloads bar that stays forever below your screen. It will not go away until you manually close it and since it occupies the entire width of your screen and is kind of around 2 inches in height it affects your browsing experience a lot. Like you are downloading multiple wallpapers from a site and the download bars remains there throughout the process.
It will change the layout of the website you are currently in and will shrink the elements like images or reduces the size of your video. Instead of having to close it every single time you download something what if there is a way where it automatically closes once your download is complete?
Auto Hide Downloads Bar Upon Completion
You don’t have to be a programmer nor have to modify any settings of the Google Chrome browser to do this. All you have to do is to install a Chrome extension called Always Clear Downloads, kind of a straightforward name isn’t it?
Once the extension is live on your browser, any file you download from now, be it a video, image or even a zip file will not stay on the downloads bar now. Protip: You can always view the list of all files you have downloaded by using the shortcut keys Ctrl+J in Windows and Shift+Cmd+J in Mac OS. And you can use shortcut Ctrl+W or Cmd+W to close the tab. Thus, when you use the combination to quicky view and close the downloads page, you effectively close the downloads bar of Chrome with keyboard shortcuts.
