Snapdragon 810 MSM8994 is the 64 bit flagship chipset from Qualcomm. It’s formed on 20nm power efficient process and based on big.LITTLE architecture with 4 Cortex A57 cores and 4 Cortex A53 cores assisted by powerful Adreno 430 GPU (80 percent faster than Adreno 330 in Snapdragon 800/ 801). All 8 cores can be active simultaneously as well. Apart from the new Snapdragon 810 SoC, the smartphone platform uses 4 GB LPDDR4 RAM for the first time in a commercial device. It also includes a 6.2 Inch display with 2560 x 1600 pixels, MicroSD card slot and 32 GB internal storage. The 13 MP primary camera can record 4k videos and the 4 MP front shooter can capture 1080p full HD videos. There are total 8 Microphones built along with USB 3.0, fingerprint sensor, temperature sensor and humidity sensor. It is powered by 3020 mAh battery with Quick Charge 2.0 supported.

The tablet platform, priced at $999 will have a 10.1 Inch display with whooping 3840 x 2160 4K resolution. It will be powered by same Snapdragon 810 SoC with 4 GB LPDDR4 RAM and 64 GB native storage. Imaging hardware also remains same with a 13 MP rear/ 4 MP front shooter. The tablet also features couple of 3D IR cameras besides the same fingerprint sensor, temperature sensor and humidity sensor. Battery capacity is 7,560 mAh. Both smartphone and tablet platform will start shipping later in December. These are basically meant for developers and give us a lot to be excited about for 2015. The specification war is all set to get crazier than ever.
