Since Apple Watch is not available in India, Android wear version would have made more sense, but HDFC explains further. HDFC is starting with Apple watch as it considers the Watch is better suited and designed for quick access and intuitive experience. The company will later extend the app to all wearable devices on Android and iOS platform. Initially, the app will provide 10 banking transactions in the current launch phase. Some of them being view account information, bill payments, recharges, hot listing facilities, locate nearest branch/ATM/offer, request statement/chequebook etc. You won’t have to download a separate app to sync watch app content on your phone. The app works with the existing HDFC mobile banking app. All transactions will take place between the mobile app and the bank servers. Option for watch banking pin is also there to add another layer of security. of course, the passcode lock on Apple watch will also help keep your vital banking information safe.
