Customers can register their request on https://ceir.gov.in/ along with a copy of the FIR and address proof to block the IMEI number of their lost phone. After that, they will receive a request ID that can be used to track the device as well as unblock the IMEI number later.

How to block?
Users can block the device by any of the following means: File a report with the police, and keep a copy of it. Get a duplicate SIM card from your telecom service provider. Get these documents ready – a copy of the police report and an Identity Proof. You can also provide a mobile purchase invoice. Fill out the request registration form for blocking the lost phone, and attach the required documents. Click here to go to the form. After submitting the form, you will receive a Request ID. This ID can be used for checking the status of your lost device and for unblocking the IMEI in the future. 2. Through telecom operator’s specified customer outlets. 3. Through State Police.
How to track?
Go to this link and enter the request ID that was generated while blocking your phone. After clicking on submit, your phone’s status will be shown on screen.
How to unblock?
To unblock a lost device, users have to report to local Police first that the device is found. After that users can unblock the device either through a form submitted on the CEIR website or through specified customer outlets of telecom operators. The procedure to unblock from CEIR website is as follows – Fill out the registration form for unblocking the IMEI of the found phone. Click here to go to the form. After submitting the form, it will be unblocked. This initiative is expected to benefit 5 crore mobile users in Delhi and NCR. It will be extended to other parts of the country this year.
