Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL come with top-notch Snapdragon 845 chipset alongside excellent software features. However, just like the previous generations, the Pixel 3 series also reportedly come with some issues related to audio, memory management, and other software aspects. Here we are talking about the memory management issue that kills background apps.

Pixel 3 RAM Management Issue

The Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL come with 4GB RAM. This might just not be enough for a 2018 Android flagship and that why there could be a memory management issue. The issue on both the phones was reported by a user on a Reddit thread. According to the post, the Pixel 3 keeps reloading and closing apps when just 2-3 of them are open. Moreover, several tweets also give hint that the Pixel 3 phones are killing background apps.

Among the most used cases, music and podcast apps are being closed without even any warning. This issue could be because Android’s new OS needs more RAM to be free. So, a flagship smartphone with 4GB of RAM in 2018 doesn’t seem a good idea after all. Further, some Pixel 3 users have also complained about audio quality issues while recording videos on the smartphone. However, Google issued a statement regarding this stating that it has specifically tuned the audio to reduce the background noise. Coming to the RAM management issue, Google has not issued a fix or a statement for this as of now. But we are hoping that something might arrive soon officially from Google.
