Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL
Design: Google’s gen-next Pixel smartphone features a slight change in the design. It still features the glass and metal combination but the glass back has been made a little smaller as the fingerprint scanner has now been moved out of the glass portion. The power button now comes in shades of orange, green and blue to add some color to the device. There’s a squeezable edge on the left which triggers the Google Assistant. Display: The Google Pixel 2 comes out with the same size, look and feel as last years’ device at 5 inches. The Pixel 2 XL however has been given an upgrade in terms of size as it now comes out with 6 inches of screen. The regular Pixel device features an OLED display while the larger of the two comes with a POLED display. The display on both the phones will be an always-on display.
Camera: Similar to last year, the Google Pixel 2 too, has it’s camera as one of its highlights. Last year the camera recorded a score of 89 at the DXO ratings. This year the DXO ratings have shot up to 98. The camera comes out into the markets with a 12.2 MP sensor, an f/1.8 aperture. It brings in a depth effect thanks to Google’s incredible machine learning and can identify depth from the image that is being captured without the need of a second camera. Both these phones would get unlimited original sized storage on Google Photos. Processing: The Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL will both feature 4GB of RAM and will run on the Snapdragon 835 processor. The phone comes out in 64GB and 128GB of storage space variants. It runs on the Android Oreo OS.
