“The Assistant can help do everyday things like call your mom, turn on compatible living room lights, plan your day and even show you your photos from the holidays. Now, it’s getting even better, by helping you wake up, find a show and listen to your favorite songs,” writes Google in the blog post.
Setup music alarms
To set up music alarms, first users need to save the songs that they want to Google home or other assistant-enabled speakers. Now, say “Hey Google, set an alarm for 6 AM that plays (insert your favorite song or artists) to the Assistant on Google Home or your other speakers. Once it is done, you will wake up to your favorite song, playlist or even radio station.
TV shows reminder
Another feature is the ability to help you learn about your favorite TV shows and it can now help you keep up with the TV shows that you are following. All you have to do is just say “Hey Google, what channel airs ‘The Flash’ or “Hey Google, when does ‘The Flash’ air next. You can even set reminders, so you don’t miss the show, say ‘Hey Google, remind me to watch Riverdale every Wednesday at 8 PM.”
Netflix
Moreover, Google has also worked with Netflix to make your Netflix experience more personal. You need to link your Netflix account to the Google Home app or the Google Assistant on your phone. Once the setup is done, you can use simple voice commands to play content on Netflix. You can just say, “Hey Google, play Stranger Things on Netflix” and it will also pick up right where you left off on your Netflix account. Additionally, users can now also play all the music that they have purchased or uploaded to their Google Play music library. These latest Google Assistant updates are already rolling out, but these are only accessible in limited regions as of now. Also, you need a Google Home or other assistant enabled-speaker to use these features.
