XDA Developers reports that Google has accidentally published a new commit on its AOSP pages on Thursday and the codes reveal the name of the upcoming phone as the Google Pixel 3. The new AOSP commit is a modular piece of code which shows a particular function of the Android OS of a device called the “Cherrypick” and it mentions the phone’s name “Pixel 3” in the description. Apart from this, not much is known about the upcoming Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL devices. But, we can expect both the smartphones to come with Android P software. To recall, Pixel and Pixel XL phones were launched in 2016 and those were the first phones to come with Android Nougat OS. Similarly, the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, launched last year were the first devices to run Android Oreo out-of-box. Going by Google’s track record, we can expect the upcoming Pixel 3 smartphones to come with Android P software. Google has also rolled out the first developers preview of Android P to Pixel devices. We can also expect that the upcoming Pixel flagships will come with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 845 processor, considering the fact that most of the recently launched flagships are being launched with the same processor. Apart from these next generation Pixel phones, Google is also reportedly working on a third Pixel phone which will be a cheaper model running Android Oreo Go edition.
