Gmail Sync bug has been affecting a lot of Android users over the last few weeks. A acknowledgement by Google engineers confirmed this a few weeks back. Since then, numerous Gmail users on Android have also reported about the issue affecting them. Users of Nexus devices have been affected more than other users, as is visible from the number of users reporting syncing issues and delayed push notifications. In the Nexus product forums, a lot of users have posted that their Nexus device is not syncing Gmail properly, and that the notifications are massively delayed.

Gmail Bug Fix Update Rolling Out Now

In a reply to a user with similar issue, Nexus Community Manager Orrin had the following to say: Further elaborating, Orrin has reported that the Gmail sync bug fix is a server side rollout. As such, there won’t be any update; you won’t get any app update or system update. The fix will be rolled out in phases, on an account-by-account basis. Sit back and relax while the bug fix is rolled out to you. Source: 1 | 2
