Homemade Masks

To start making a homemade mask, you’ll need these supplies on hand:

Cotton clothElasticA sewing kit or machine

Designer Masks

After getting the above materials ready, you can make two types of face masks at home. First of those is that looks like surgical masks that are currently available in the market at a slightly higher price than before. You can cut the cloth in multiple small pieces and sew them together like the picture shown above, and your homemade mask is ready.

Non-designer Masks

If you cant make the designer maks like the ones that look like surgical masks, you can simply use old clothes and sew them to make masks. Cut the cotton cloth in a shape of masks and sew it together, also make sure to attach the elastic at its both ends.

Non-sewed options

If you don’t know how to sew, or do not have any of the above-mentioned material to make a hand-sewed mask, there are other face mask options too. Instead of sewing the clothes together, you can use a cotton towel or handkerchief to make a non-sewed mask. The elastic hair-band is used to fuse the fabric together. Please note that there’s no proof available that homemade facemasks can keep you from getting the COVID-19, but there are still some benefits of wearing something on your face when you leave your home. Also, alongside homemade face masks make sure to maintain appropriate social distancing on walks.
