Physical Overview
Coolpad Note 3s follows a totally different design language compared to Coolpad Note 3. It has a glossy finish on the front and back. The front looks a lot like the Coolpad Mega 2.5D with a curved glass and thick black borders around the display. The top and bottom have a nice looking mesh like design if you take a close look at it, which looks nice. Whereas, the back looks totally refreshing with rounded edges and curved sides. It is made up of plastic but it does not feel cheap in any manner. The body is held by a metal rim that runs around the sides. Holding the device is very comfortable and it feels pretty solid as well. One handed is not easy on 5.5 inch display but you get a one handed UI mode. On the front, it has the primary camera along with earpiece and proximity sensor on the top, and capacitive navigation keys placed below the screen.
Volume rocker keys are on the left hand side of the phone. Lock/power key is on the right hand side. Both the keys are made up of plastic and give tactile feedback.
On the back you will see the camera lens surrounded by a chrome ring and the LED flash is on its right. Under the camera there is a fingerprint sensor which looks good with a chrome ring and different design. There is a mic hole on top of the LED flash.
Dual SIM slot and 3.5mm audio jack is located on the top of the phone.
Whereas, the bottom has a microphone hole and micro USB port for data syncing and charging.
The speaker grill is on the lower back of the phone.
Coolpad Note 3S Display
The Coolpad Note 3s comes with a 5.5 inch HD 720p IPS LCD display. Suring our short encounter with the phone, we realized that Coolpad has done a good job with the display on this phone. Although a 720p display on a 5.5 inch size seems a bit outdated, it still has a high quality panel that looks great in terms of contrast, brightness level and viewing angles.
Camera Overview
The Coolpad Note 3s comes with a 13 MP camera on the back and a 5 MP front camera, both the cameras have f/2.2 aperture. During our testing, the rear camera was performance was not something we could applaud. The camera samples from both the cameras were just average. Rear camera was capturing detailed and balanced pictures in day light, but may struggle in low lighting conditions. Selfies are also good in day light only, that means you may see grains and noise in dim light selfies.

Conclusion
Coolpad Note 3s looks decent in all the aspects other than the battery. If you care about looks and are looking for a phone full of software features, then you can surely consider this phone. It has a good hardware combination along with a good looking design. The deal would have been sweeter with a bulkier battery and a full HD display.
