Ahead of its launch, the company has released the teaser of its upcoming smartphone on its official social media handle. The series of teasers not only hints the launch of the smartphone in Dubai, it also hints the Indian launch which will also take place on August 20. The event is named as ‘Live Play’ on Facebook. The smartphone has already marked its presence in China in Gold and Black colour options at a price tag of 1499 Yuan (approximately Rs. 14,400) in May and now it will be launched in other markets. As the smartphone is positioned in the entry-level smartphone segment, the Cool Play 6 will take on other Chinese manufacturers like Xiaomi and Honor.
Cool Play 6 Specifications
The Coolpad Cool Play 6 is packed in a premium metal body that gives it a plush feel and features a 5.5 inch Full HD (1920 X 1080 pixels) display. Powering the smartphone is an octa-core Snapdragon 653 chipset (Quad 1.95GHz ARM Cortex A72 + Quad 1.44GHz A53) paired with Adreno 510 GPU. The Cool Play 6 runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system and it comes with 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage which can be further extended via a microSD card. The camera duties include a 13 MP dual rear camera with f/2.0 aperture with features like phase detection autofocus, dual tone LED flash while there will be an 8MP snapper with f/2.2 aperture at the front.
The phone is fueled by a 4,060mAh non-removable battery pack which can give up to 252 hours of standby time to the phone. The phone also has up to 9 hours of internet browsing, 8 hours of video watching and 6 hours of extreme gaming capabilities. The fingerprint sensor is positioned on the back while the connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac/a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and USB Type-C port.
