Kodak has teamed up with British firm Bullit to make most components of the smartphone. Notably, Bullit was involved in making the rugged CAT branded smartphones as well. The highlight of the Kodak IM5 is its imaging hardware comprising of a 13 MP primary camera with flash at the rear and a 5 MP front facing selfie camera at the front. The features of this camera are yet to be revealed, but it was earlier claimed that the handset will pack best in class image management aspects. Otherwise, Kodak IM5 comes packed with decent specifications including a 5 inch HD display with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels and is based on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system. The firm has also assured to rollout the Android 5.0 Lollipop update to the device sometime in the near future. Powering the IM5 is an octa core MediaTek processor of unspecified chipset clocked at 1.7 GHz paired with 1 GB of RAM. The Kodak smartphones comes packed with 8 GB of native storage capacity that can be extended further by another 32 GB using a micro SD card. Other aspects of the smartphone include connectivity options are standard with no 4G support and the battery capacity remains undisclosed by the maker. The firm has launched its own app store called Apps that is claimed to provide easy access to select applications that are best suited for its users. Also, there is support for Google Play for users to get access to all the Android applications. Kodak IM5 has a simplified UI with big bold icons.
